KC Craft Beer Week is November 4th to 12th, and we have a few activities planned.
BALLAST POINT TAP TAKEOVER AT BIER STATION: On Wednesday, 11/8, Bier Station will have a Ballast Point tap takeover from 5:30 to 8 p.m. We will be there to support our friends from Ballast Point and fellow brewer, Aaron Justus.
COLLABORATION BEER WITH BALLAST POINT: On Friday, 11/10, we are doing a collab brew with Ballast Point. If you haven’t heard, the collaboration beer is a mash up concept on BKS’s Northeast style IPA and Ballast Point’s technique with incorporating citrus zest and juice into IPAs (Grapefruit Sculpin IPA). The beer will receive huge double dry hop additions of citra and mosaic hops, orange zest and juice, and will be fermented with a combination of two northeast style yeast strains and the saccharomyces trois yeast strain. It will be on tap in our tasting room in December.
TICKETED TASTING EVENT: After we get done brewing on Fri. 11/10, Ballast Point will stick around for a ticketed tasting event from 8pm to 10pm in our tasting room. We will be pouring multiple BKS beers including Counterculture, Vacation Island (Mai Tai, Margarita and Mimosa), Rockhill & Locust with Oddly Correct Kenyan roasted coffee and two new beers – Clouds and Holstein. Clouds is our Northeast style double IPA featuring El Dorado, mosaic and simcoe hops. Holstein is our milk stout, and this batch features Oddly Correct El Salvador roast coffee and Tanzania cacao. Attendees can purchase extra pours of our beers and purchase 16oz cans and 22oz bottles to-go. There will be Ballast Point and BKS merchandise drawings, with other surprises to be announced at the event. We have 40 tickets for sale to the general public for this private/ticketed event. Tickets will cost $30.00 and go up for sale on our ecommerce site at 8pm on Saturday 11/04/17.
TASTING ROOM OPEN AND RETAIL TO-GO: On Saturday, 11/11, starting at 10am, we will sell to-go retail of 22oz bottles of Clouds DIPA and 16oz cans of Holstein milk stout and other select beers. Then, from 11am to 2pm, our tasting room will be open for draft pours and any bottles/cans that are left for retail to-go. If you missed out on the ticketed tasting event, this is a great way to try our beer. Additional details on the Saturday opening will be available on our Tasting Room page and view the beer selection for to-go retail and tap pours here.
Stay tuned for additional soft opening events in November, leading up to regular Saturday tasting room hours in December.
