Shortly after we opened in 2017, we produced our first lager at BKS Artisan Ales. Our curiosity and interest in producing new styles of lager has continued to grow, and we’ve been thinking quite a bit about how “lager” fits into the picture at BKS Artisan “Ales”.
We, somewhat quietly, added a seperate space in our brewery for lager fermentation that was previously used for storage. If you’ve been in our tasting room recently, you probably noticed the room behind our serving area suddenly having shiny new tanks. These tanks have all been filled with lager patiently working it’s way through its 6 to 8 week journey.
On that note, we’re excited to announce a new endeavor that will focus specifically on lager. Named “Pivo Project”, we will officially be separating lagers from BKS Artisan “Ales” under the roof of BKS. Brewed and packaged by BKS Artisan Ales at our location in Brookside, “Pivo Project” represents an intentional and deliberate effort devoted to a line of lager focused beers.
All beers released under the Pivo Project line will be announced on the @pivoproject Instagram page only. You will also find details on the beers on Untappd under Pivo Project.
We look forward to this fun and experimental journey further into the world of lagers!
